Oh the Places You'll Go

Just some experiences of mine that I thought I would share.

Things I have already learned about myself over five days studying abroad

1. I am really into culture and history

2. I do not know a whole lot about culture and history

3. I can withstand hot temperatures better than I would have thought I could.

4. I can totally walk to class at A&M, & it is going to happen now considering we walk like 5 miles a day here in 95 plus degree heat.

5. I think about my dog a whole lot.

6. I enjoy white wine

7. I can totally learn Italian if I tried

8. I get cranky when I miss my boyfriend this much

9. I really am not one to "go with the flow" but am learning

10. I enjoy other peoples company a lot, and getting to know people more than I thought, and genuinely enjoy learning about what peoples live consist of back at home

11. I assume the worst more than half the time, and more than half the time the worst never happens

12. I am not as awkward as I thought I was before coming on this trip, I have really been able to put myself out there and dive in

13. I love Nutella

14. I have learned that I enjoy dressing semi cute/causal way more than wearing a tshirt everywhere. I am so much more comfortable in a super flawy $12 romper from H&M, or a $4 tank and nikes with my eccos shoes than a giant tshirt and sports bra combo.

15. I love being funny, I knew this before, but I want to actually make people smile all the time, and make people laugh, and stuff. It is the most rewarding feeling in my opinion, to see someone smile and laugh at something you created.

16. I can totally live in a dorm. This has not been bad. Three girls to a room, three desks, three dressers, community kitchen and bathroom on one floor has not been a problem.

17. I don't need as much stuff as I thought, i have worn the jewelry I came in without taking any of it off for a second the entire time I have been here.

18. I don't need much makeup, & I don't know why I thought I did before. I love eye stuff, but here I have had to say good bye to the liquid and use a powder than is funky but doable and just stuck with the waterproof mascara/liner little bit of eyeshadow and some lipgloss and I am good for the day. I feel so much better this way too which is weird.

19. I love cappuccinos now.

20. I want to have a job that offers traveling in some aspect, because after seeing what I have been missing about living abroad in this short time and how little I have seen of this city (seriously, like, we have maybe seen 1/56 of Rome and I have been here for 5 days) and want to get immersed in culture from all different countries for the rest of my life. This has become a real passion for me.
